Poland's car workshops fitting LPG systems are booking jobs two to three months ahead, with some owners saying they have not seen demand this high in decades. In Olsztyn, Sebastian Kubiak, who has run an autogas workshop for more than 25 years, said he has not seen demand like this before. He said cars are already being booked for slots after Christmas, and his workshop receives roughly 20 to 30 calls a day from drivers asking about conversions. ## Prices and savings The average LPG price in Poland is currently 3.44 zloty per litre (Nawet 3 miesiące czekania. Installation typically starts at around 3,500 to 4,500 zloty and rises with the size of the car and the number of cylinders. Experts say running on gas can cut fuel costs by up to 50 percent compared with petrol. For a small or medium car driven about 20,000 kilometres a year, the conversion can pay for itself within the first year, depending on mileage and the gap between LPG and petrol prices. ## Parts shortages The demand has created problems with supply.
