Overnight attack into November 7

Russian forces launched a combined strike on Ukraine during the night of November 6–7 using missiles and 172 drones, the Air Force said (Росія атакувала 172 дронами та ракетами: є влучання та падіння на 34 локаціях – ПС – Українська правда). Air defenses shot down or suppressed 153 aerial targets in total (Масований удар по Україні 7 листопада: куди цілив ворог та скільки цілей збила ППО – TSN). The missiles included Iskander-M, Tsirkon, KN-23 and S-400 types, fired from Russia's Bryansk and Voronezh regions. The drones included Shahed, Gerbera and Parodia decoys, 137 of them jet-powered, launched from Russian territory and from occupied Donetsk and Crimea.

Impacts

By 09:00, air defenses had shot down or suppressed four missiles and 149 drones, 117 of them jet-powered. The Air Force reported hits at 24 locations and falling debris at 10 more. Kyiv Oblast was the main target.

A drone hit a private house in the Darnytskyi district and caused a fire, while a large fire broke out at a warehouse in Obolonskyi district (Росія посеред дня вдарила по Києву: у двох районах пошкоджені будинки, палають склади – TSN). Hits in the capital were also reported in Solomianskyi district (Вибухи в Києві: Повітряні сили попередили про рух реактивного БпЛА в напрямку столиці — перші деталі – TSN).

Missiles and energy infrastructure

President Zelensky said Russia fired 36 ballistic missiles overnight and only four were intercepted (ППО збила 4 з 36 ракет вночі, Росія атакувала в тому числі ракетами з КНДР – Зеленський – Українська правда).

Power problems in Kyiv also affected transport, following damage to energy facilities in Kyiv and Zhytomyr oblasts (Росія атакувала Одесу: є загиблий — перші подробиці – TSN).

Overnight attack into November 8

A new wave began overnight into November 8. Russia used three Kh-59/69 guided missiles launched from the Sea of Azov and 164 Shahed drones, 112 of them jet-powered, along with Gerbera and Parodia decoys (Без світла і тепла після атаки РФ: які міста постраждали та де найскладніша ситуація 8 листопада – TSN). By 08:00, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 137 drones, with hits recorded at 23 locations and debris falling at six more.

In Odesa, the evening attack on November 7 damaged urban infrastructure and killed one person, the city's military administration reported. In Khmelnytskyi, a drone struck a private courtyard, damaging dozens of homes and several apartment blocks, and one person was injured (Російський дрон атакував місто на заході України: є постраждалий і пошкодження (фото) – TSN) (У Хмельницькому пролунали вибухи: пошкоджена багатоповерхівка, є поранений – що відомо – TSN).
