BGK and Italy's CDP Sign First Memorandum of Cooperation

A framework for long-term cooperation

Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) have signed a memorandum of understanding that sets out a framework for long-term collaboration between the two institutions (BGK podpisał memorandum o współpracy z włoską instytucją rozwoju CDP – wnp.pl) (BGK wzmacnia współpracę z włoską instytucją rozwoju CDP – BGK). The document is aimed at supporting development projects, sharing expertise and carrying out joint initiatives linked to the economic development and resilience of Europe (Italia-Polonia, primo MoU tra Istituzioni di Sviluppo: CDP e BGK rafforzano cooperazione | Teleborsa.it – teleborsa.it). The signing took place in Warsaw, and CDP chief executive Dario Scannapieco attended the ceremony (Italia-Polonia, intesa Cdp-Bgk sul sostegno alle imprese - Italypost – italypost.it).

Areas of cooperation

The partners plan to work together on several fronts:

• equity investment and venture capital;
• innovative financial and guarantee instruments for small and medium-sized enterprises;
• social housing;
• sustainable finance;
• projects linked to European security and economic resilience.

EU programmes and third countries

BGK and CDP also intend to cooperate under InvestEU and other European Union programmes. They plan to develop joint investment and development projects in partner countries outside the EU and to exchange knowledge on EU regulations. According to CDP's statement, the goal is to mobilise resources and create investment opportunities for businesses and regions.

Context

The agreement comes as European institutions face pressure on competitiveness, energy transition, innovation and security. The partners present their cooperation as a step toward stronger ties between national development banks in the region.
