Court questions one of the charges against Michał Woś in Pegasus case
A court has doubts about one of the charges brought against Polish MP Michał Woś over the transfer of 25 million zloty for the purchase of Pegasus spyware. The trial date has not yet been set.

Doubts over one of the charges
- A Warsaw court has questioned one charge against Michał Woś, a PiS MP, over 25 million zloty spent on Pegasus.
- The court lifted Woś's preventive measures on 28 May 2026, including a 200,000 zloty property bond.
- The indictment has not yet been read in court, and the first hearing may not be held until mid-2027.
A court has questioned one of the charges against Michał Woś, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP and former deputy justice minister, in the case concerning the transfer of 25 million zloty from the Justice Fund to buy the Pegasus system for the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) (Klęska prokuratury ws. Pegasusa. Woś: Sąd nie kupił bajek Żurka – Niezależna) (Dotarliśmy do akt sprawy Michała Wosia. Jedna z decyzji sądu zaskakuje – Radio Zet). According to Radio ZET, the court's decision describes the accusation of embezzlement as questionable (Nowe informacje w sprawie procesu Michała Wosia. Sąd podał w wątpliwość jeden z zarzutów – Onet).
Charges and prosecution case
The prosecution accuses Woś of exceeding his powers and of misappropriating the funds. Prosecutors argue that his political position was meant to win the favour of Zbigniew Ziobro, then justice minister, and that this brought him party promotions and public posts, including a seat in the Council of Ministers and the post of environment minister. Investigators also claim his position was used to employ his wife.
Lifted preventive measures
On 28 May 2026, Judge Marcin Waszkiewicz lifted the preventive measures against Woś. These included police supervision, a ban on contact with Ziobro and Marcin Romanowski, and a 200,000 zloty property bond. Security covering a compulsory mortgage, bank accounts and a car was also removed. The same judge is to preside over the trial at the Warsaw Regional Court.
Timing of the trial
The indictment reached the Warsaw Regional Court at the end of October 2025, but it has not yet been read out. Radio ZET reports the first hearing may not take place until the middle of next year (Woś nie kryje satysfakcji! „Sąd nie kupił bajek Żurka” – wpolityce.pl). The indictment runs to 248 pages, 200 of them the justification, and lists 32 witnesses.
Reactions
Woś welcomed the court's decision, saying the judges did not accept the prosecution's version of events. He described the case as a defeat for the prosecution led by Waldemar Żurek. Woś has denied the charges, which remain unproven in court.
