Fake advertisement shown to internet users

Users of online platforms have been shown an advertisement that uses the image and voice of Polsat News journalist Anna Kalczyńska. The clip is presented as a paid promotion for a service that supposedly lets people earn money through artificial intelligence (Dziennikarka Polsatu ofiarą oszustów. "Jestem w szoku" – polsatnews.pl).

How the clip is built

The video opens with a computer-generated figure based on Anna Lewandowska, who urges viewers to sign up ("Jestem w szoku". Dziennikarka Polsatu padła ofiarą oszustów – WP Kobieta). It then switches to a synthetic version of Kalczyńska, seated in a television studio, who claims the method has been tested and that anyone who registers can generate income with AI (Oszuści wykorzystali wizerunek Kalczyńskiej z Polsatu. "Jestem w szoku" – Do Rzeczy). Kalczyńska has said she had no part in the material and that her image and voice were used without her consent.

Journalist's reaction

Kalczyńska said she was shocked at how easily a convincing fake could be produced using her face and voice. She said that, in her view, there is little that can be done against this kind of fraud.
