Factory for HOMAR-K Rocket Munitions to Open in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Employing 250 People at Start
Construction has begun in Gorzów Wielkopolski on a plant that will produce guided rocket munitions for the HOMAR-K system, the first facility of its kind in Poland on a large scale. The joint venture between WB Electronics and Hanwha Aerospace is set to employ more than 250 people initially.

In brief
- Construction has started on a plant in Gorzów Wielkopolski that will make guided rockets for the HOMAR-K system.
- The joint venture of WB Electronics and Hanwha Aerospace reports more than 250 jobs, while other sources cite 200.
- Production is planned to begin in 2028, with large volumes from 2030.
Construction begins on the site
A ceremonial groundbreaking took place on Wednesday, 4 November, in Gorzów Wielkopolski, with Lubusz Marshal Sebastian Ciemnoczołowski among those attending (W Gorzowie Wielkopolskim wbito pierwszą łopatę pod fabrykę pocisków do HOMAR-K. W fabryce pracę znajdzie ponad 250 osób – Urząd Marszałkowski Województwa Lubuskiego). The facility will be the first in Poland to manufacture guided rocket munitions for the HOMAR-K artillery system on a large scale (Fabryki takiej amunicji jeszcze w Polsce nie było. Ruszy budowa – WNP.pl).
Background of the deal
The location was confirmed at the end of December 2025, when WB Electronics and South Korea's Hanwha Aerospace signed an agreement in Warsaw to build the plant. The investment is meant to strengthen Poland's defence capabilities and deepen industrial cooperation with South Korea.
Jobs and output
The plant is expected to employ more than 250 people, although other reports put the initial figure at 200 jobs (У Польщі будують завод з виробництва ракетних боєприпасів – Європейська правда). The Polish Ministry of National Defence, which cited the 200 figure, expects production to run in large volumes. Starting in 2030, the factory is to supply the army with several tens of thousands of rockets of this category, which have not been produced in Poland before.
Context for the defence sector
The project fits a wider need for tactical rockets that Poland has not manufactured domestically until now (To tu powstanie fabryka amunicji, jakiej w Polsce jeszcze nie było – WNP.pl). Officials said the rockets will serve both the Polish armed forces and export to allied countries. Separately, WB Electronics, the largest private Polish defence group, is reported to be preparing a stock market listing in Warsaw, which may take place in the first half of 2027 at a valuation of up to PLN 30 billion (Polski producent dronów szykuje debiut dekady. Zgoda właścicieli otwiera drogę do historycznego IPO – Bankier.pl) (Gigant polskiej zbrojeniówki idzie na GPW. Wycena spółki może sięgnąć 30 mld zł – Rzeczpospolita).
What comes next
Production is scheduled to begin in 2028, according to the government's plans (Pociski do Homarów powstaną w Polsce. W Gorzowie rusza budowa fabryki – Rzeczpospolita).
