In brief

• The article covers a scheduling conflict between Robert Lewandowski's MLS play-off commitments with Chicago Fire and Poland's Nations League matches in November.
• According to journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk, Lewandowski will join the national team camp on the normal schedule.
• Chicago Fire fans reportedly backed the striker's decision to prioritise the national team.

Scheduling conflict in November

Lewandowski faces a difficult situation: Chicago Fire have secured a place in the MLS play-offs, where they will face Charlotte FC (Lewandowski znów opuści USA, burza w Chicago. Decyzja już zapadła - Sport w INTERIA.PL – sport.interia.pl). At the same time, the Poland national team is due to play Romania and Sweden in the Nations League. The match against Sweden is scheduled for Wrocław on November 17 at 20:45, while the first MLS play-off game is set for November 20-24. The dates may therefore almost overlap.

National team camp to take priority

Journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk of Meczyki.pl reported that, according to his information, Lewandowski will join the national team camp on the normal schedule. Earlier reports suggested the striker would not change his plans and would fly from the United States to join the national team (Lewandowski podjął ostateczną decyzję. Niespodziewanie wraca do Polski - Pomponik w INTERIA.PL – pomponik.pl). Włodarczyk added that if anyone were to suffer from an unfavourable fixture arrangement, it would be Chicago Fire.

Reaction among Chicago fans

The situation has sparked debate among the club's supporters in Chicago, who reportedly reached a verdict and backed the Pole. Since moving to MLS, the player has had to adjust to his new team, and media reports note that his standing in the squad is growing.

Family and travel

Reports indicate that the player's wife, Anna Lewandowska, often travels between Europe and the United States, and her decision to leave Spain was not easy for her. With Robert returning to Poland, at least for the duration of the camp, the family will have more time together.
