Network upgrade plan
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) and the Miami HEAT said they will modernize the wireless and wired network at Kaseya Center in Miami, according to a report from Investing.com. The project is intended to be in place before the 2026-2027 NBA season.
Hardware and infrastructure
According to the report, the new system will combine Wi-Fi 7 wireless access points and campus gateways from HPE Aruba with switching infrastructure from HPE Juniper. The changes are meant to respond to rising demand for connectivity in areas where many fans gather, particularly the lower bowl of the arena. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to enhance connectivity in crowded areas, which is crucial for fan engagement during sports and entertainment events.
Monitoring and service partners
HPE will monitor the network during five live events to check and fine-tune its performance, the report said. The company will work with AT&T on communications services and with CSPi Technology Solutions on deploying and managing IT services.
Team view
Drew Dorben, a vice president with the HEAT, was quoted in the report saying that a reliable digital experience matters for everyone entering the arena, whether they attend a HEAT game, a concert or another live event. The source did not provide financial terms for the project.
