Tourist voucher for all of Poland? Plan calls for PLN 24 million from the state budget and the same amount from local governments

Plan to cover the whole country

Members of the Sejm Committee on Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism have requested that PLN 24 million be allocated to the Ministry of Sport and Tourism for a tourist voucher in the 2027 budget (Czek turystyczny obejmie całą Polskę? Magdalena Krucz, president of the Polish Tourism Organisation (POT), said that under this scenario each voivodeship would receive PLN 1.5 million (Walczą o czek turystyczny w całej Polsce. W grze 24 mln zł na dopłaty – wp.pl). Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Ireneusz Raś had earlier said that this amount is needed to run the programme nationwide.

Voivodeship governments would add another PLN 24 million, bringing the total budget to PLN 48 million. The funds would be used outside the main tourist season, as is currently the case in selected regions.

Current programme and its popularity

The tourist voucher currently operates in the warmińsko-mazurskie, podlaskie, lubelskie and podkarpackie voivodeships. The programme runs from September to the end of November 2026, and the accommodation subsidy is PLN 300 (Bony turystyczne dla całej Polski? Zainteresowanie czekami jest ogromne – newmedia24.pl). Seniors and holders of the Large Family Card are the main beneficiaries, and thanks to local government funds, support also reaches other adult tourists.

Interest is high. During the November round in Podkarpackie, the entire available pool of vouchers was used up in four minutes. Subsequent tranches in other regions are also disappearing quickly.

What comes next

The final decision will be made by the Sejm when it adopts the budget. The POT president has said that if the plan succeeds, tourist vouchers would cover the whole of Poland in 2027.
