Expansion into Asian LNG market
Orlen plans to open a trading office in Singapore in the first quarter of 2027 (Orlen chce sprzedawać LNG do Azji. Pomoże biuro handlowe w Singapurze – Rzeczpospolita). The unit will operate under Orlen LNG Trading, which is headquartered in London. The company aims to trade on the Asian LNG market, which is widely regarded as the most expensive in the world. Deputy chief executive Robert Soszyński said the office would help the group expand its activity in Asia, building on the London unit's existing trading business (Orlen otwiera biuro w Azji. Chce powalczyć o gigantyczny rynek – WNP.pl).
Qatari cargo expected soon
Orlen expects deliveries of liquefied natural gas from Qatar to resume after several months without shipments (Katar wznowi dostawy do Polski. Orlen ma ważną wiadomość – Money.pl). Soszyński said a cargo from the Qatari direction could arrive in Poland within a dozen or so days (LNG z Kataru znowu płynie do Polski. Orlen potwierdza – WNP.pl). He described it as the first cargo to Europe since the events at QatarEnergy.
Trading activity so far
Soszyński told the Orlen Gas Meeting in Warsaw that the company had already completed four cargo transactions on the Asian market. He presented the Singapore office as a way to scale up that activity in a region where most gas trade is concentrated.
