Site work under way in Choczewo
The plant is being built in the Choczewo commune in Pomerania, on a plot of more than 330 hectares. Leveling works are currently under way there, and geological surveys of the land and seabed are running in parallel.
Infrastructure and contractors
Deputy president Michał Olszewski said work on infrastructure linked to the plant is worth close to PLN 5 billion and includes roads and 150 km of railway lines. The first section of the new national road is scheduled to be ready in May or June next year.
The investor is PEJ, and the contractor is a consortium of the US firms Westinghouse and Bechtel. Bechtel Polska's president, Leszek Hołda, said the key task for the consortium is finalizing negotiations on the executive contract.
