Job Offer Barometer in September
Second Monthly Decline
The Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles (BIEC) and the University of Information Technology and Management (WSIiZ) reported that the Job Offer Barometer fell to 253.9 points in September from 256.8 points in August. The indicator had previously dropped from 261.5 points in July. The September 2026 reading represents a year-on-year decrease of 4.1 points compared to 258 points recorded in September 2025.
IT and Construction Hit Hardest
The IT sector and construction industry experienced the steepest declines in job advertisements, according to BIEC and WSIiZ (Barometr Ofert Pracy spada drugi miesiąc z rzędu). The services sector was the only area to maintain growth in job postings (Barometr Ofert Pracy spada drugi miesiąc z rzędu). These sectoral shifts reflect changing demand patterns across Poland's economy, with technology and building-related positions becoming less available while service-oriented roles continue to expand.
Regional Disparities Widen
Job vacancies decreased in 14 of Poland's 16 provinces, according to BIEC (Liczba ofert pracy spada drugi miesiąc z rzędu). The Silesian, Lublin, and Opole provinces recorded the largest drops in available positions (Szukasz pracy? Mamy złe informacje). Only the Podkarpackie and Lubusz provinces showed an increase in job offers (Szukasz pracy? Mamy złe informacje). Despite the widespread decline in job advertisements across most regions, the registered unemployment rate held steady at 5.9 percent (Liczba ofert pracy spada drugi miesiąc z rzędu).
