Wieczysta Kraków has been fined 100,000 zloty for attempting to sign Jean-Pierre Nsame while the Cameroonian was under contract with Pogoń Szczecin. What the club offered

In August, Wieczysta contacted the striker directly and tried to persuade him to terminate his Pogoń deal. The club sent a written proposal for a one-year contract with an option to extend by another season once the player had featured in 60 percent of matches. Pogoń's complaint

Pogoń's management was unhappy with how the approach was made and filed a complaint with the League Commission. Club owner Alex Haditaghi publicly accused Wieczysta of breaking the rules and of contacting the player and his representatives without the Szczecin club knowing. He also published the offer document. Haditaghi said the club deserved far heavier consequences than a fine, calling the outcome a joke and a major disappointment.

Context for Wieczysta

The penalty comes at a difficult time for the Kraków side. Wieczysta has won only once in its last seven Ekstraklasa games. Because this is the club's first offence of this kind, the sanction was limited to a fine, and it will not face a transfer ban in the next window.

Nsame's situation

Nsame joined Pogoń after his contract with Legia Warsaw expired at the end of last season. He has struggled to get regular playing time under coach Óscar García, which is the situation Wieczysta tried to exploit.
