Cable car set to reopen after maintenance

The operator of the Kasprowy Wierch cable car, PKL Kasprowy Wierch, has completed a scheduled autumn technical inspection and plans to resume service the day after the report, when passengers can ride the line again (Mieszkańców Zakopanego obudził huk. Technicians checked the line's main components and the systems responsible for passenger safety, and serviced equipment in line with manufacturers' recommendations.

Site manager Marcin Kucharski described the work as an important stage in preparations for the winter season.

Rescue drills held during the stoppage

Mountain rescuers from the Tatra Volunteer Mountain Rescue Service used the closure to rehearse evacuating the cable car. The operator says the exercise adds to passenger safety once the line is running normally.

Winter season preparations

The operator says the checks are meant to keep the coming winter season running without disruption and safely for visitors. Separately, two outdoor photo exhibitions are due to open on the same day at Gubałówka and Góra Żar, with illuminations also planned at both sites.

Conditions on Tatra trails

In the higher parts of the Tatras, trails are currently icy and partly covered with snow.
