Elimination of top-flight clubs

For the first time in the competition's history, only four clubs from the top division have reached the 1/8 final stage. Legia Warszawa, which has 21 titles and is the most decorated club in the tournament, went out in the first round, together with Pogoń Szczecin, Widzew Łódź, KGHM Zagłębie Lubin and all three clubs from Kraków: Wisła, Wieczysta and Cracovia. In the following round, top-flight sides including Katowice, Lublin, Gliwice, Kielce, Radom and Wrocław were also eliminated. Draw results

The draw took place on Friday. The most interesting pairing is Polonia Warszawa, who lead the first division, against Raków Częstochowa, last year's finalist and winner in 2021 and 2022. Siarka Tarnobrzeg, the third-tier side that beat Lech, will face first-division Stal Rzeszów. Polonia Środa Wielkopolska, also from the third tier, will host second-division Sokół Kleczew.

What this season means

This season the Polish Cup winner will, for the first time, earn a place in the league phase of European competition. The winner will enter the fourth qualifying round of the Europa League, and if they lose there, they drop into the Conference League league phase.
