Blackout in Dnipro region continues: over 600,000 customers still without power after repeated Russian strikes
Repeated Russian attacks on the energy system have left more than 600,000 customers in Dnipropetrovsk region without electricity, including Dnipro city. Hospitals and critical infrastructure have switched to generators while repair crews wait for security conditions to allow work.

In brief
- More than 600,000 customers in Dnipropetrovsk region are without electricity after repeated Russian strikes on the energy system.
- Hospitals and critical infrastructure have switched to generators, and repair crews are waiting for security conditions to allow work.
- The outage follows earlier attacks in late October and early November that left hundreds of thousands of households without power.
Outage spreads across five districts
The regional military administration head, Oleksandr Hanzha, said more than 600,000 consumers have lost power in the Dnipro, Kamianske, Samarivka, Pavlohrad and Synelnykove districts after attacks on the energy system. Ukrainian power company DTEK confirmed large-scale outages across the region, saying the overnight strike damaged important energy facilities and that residents of the regional center are also affected
Hospitals on generators
Hospitals and other critical infrastructure facilities have moved to backup generators, according to Hanzha. DTEK said restoring power to critical facilities is the first priority.
Repairs held up by repeat attacks
DTEK said its crews are already working to restore electricity, but repeat attacks are complicating the work. Hanzha said repair teams cannot yet operate at the damaged sites because of the threat of further shelling and will start once the security situation allows (Блекаут у Дніпрі продовжується: понад 60 тисяч споживачів залишилися без світла – Українська правда).
Earlier strikes on the same grid
The current outage follows a series of attacks on Dnipropetrovsk energy infrastructure that began on October 29. On October 30, a night strike left more than 350,000 subscribers in Dnipro and nearby settlements without power and forced emergency outages outside the usual schedules; electric transport in the city stopped (Десятки тисяч людей залишились без світла у великому обласному центрі — що відомо – TSN). On October 31, strikes hit two DTEK facilities, including one where crews had been restoring power for nearly two days. Authorities said that on November 2 power was restored to 820,000 households in the region after earlier attacks.
What residents are asked to do
Hanzha urged residents who still have electricity to use it sparingly to reduce strain on the grid. Authorities also told people to stay in shelters until the air-raid alert is lifted (Повторні удари по енергетиці Дніпра: понад 60 тисяч споживачів без світла – TSN).
