Piotr Borys named new president of Centralny Port Komunikacyjny

Appointment announced

The supervisory board of CPK has appointed Piotr Borys as the company's president, the company said in a statement (Jest nowy prezes CPK. Borys has worked inside CPK since September 2024. He headed the rail subprogramme, which is responsible for preparing and carrying out rail investments under Port Polska, and until recently he led that unit (Piotr Borys nowym prezesem spółki CPK – RMF24) (CPK ma nowego prezesa. Career in rail

Borys is a civil engineer. He graduated from the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology and studied at the Warsaw School of Management. For more than a decade he held management posts in the investment structures of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe.

He took part in introducing speeds of 200 km/h on Polish railways, the first in Central and Eastern Europe, which made it possible to launch Pendolino trains in 2014. He also supervised the rail link to Chopin Airport in Warsaw, completed before Euro 2012 on schedule. Later he worked on infrastructure projects as Project Engineer under FIDIC conditions (Jest nowy prezes spółki CPK – TVN24).

Confusion with a deputy minister

Earlier on Friday, TVP Info reported that deputy sports and tourism minister Piotr Borys had become CPK's president. That report was incorrect. The supervisory board chose a rail manager with the same name and surname. The deputy minister was not appointed, and the broadcaster removed the item from its website (Wpadka TVP Info. Ogłosiła wiceministra nowym prezesem CPK – Money.pl).

Priorities

In the company's statement, Borys said the task ahead is large and that he wants upcoming decisions to produce concrete results. He also said his goals are efficient management of the company and consistent implementation of the adopted plans.
