In brief
- Belarus is expected to see mild autumn weather from October 26 to November 1, 3–5 degrees above the seasonal norm.
- The week will be unsettled, with rain across most regions and gusty wind.
- Daytime highs could reach 9 degrees in the west and 15 degrees in Gomel, with possible light frost on clear nights.
Warm spell with unstable weather
The week of October 26 to November 1 will bring mild autumn weather to Belarus, with daytime temperatures running 3 to 5 degrees above the climatic norm (Белорусов ждет умеренное осеннее тепло – Charter 97). The forecast, presented by meteorologist Dmitry Ryabov on the state-aligned channel ONT, also warns that the weather will be changeable, with atmospheric fronts and moist air masses bringing rain and gusty wind.
Monday and Tuesday outlook
On Monday, October 26, a damp, weakly active front will move into the country, with rain expected across almost all regions. Night temperatures are forecast between 6 and 12 degrees Celsius above zero, while daytime highs could reach 9 degrees in western areas and up to 15 degrees in the Gomel region.
On Tuesday, October 27, the front will begin moving east but its influence will persist. Short rain showers are expected overnight across the country and during the morning and daytime mainly in eastern districts. Where skies clear at night, light frost down to minus 2 degrees is possible.
What it means for residents
The mix of mild daytime air and frequent precipitation suggests that outdoor plans should allow for wet conditions, particularly early in the week. The forecast indicates no sharp cold snap before the start of November.
