Poland's Supreme Audit Office has identified a series of significant irregularities in how the Territorial Defence Forces were prepared and operated, according to a published report (NIK wykryła nieprawidłowości w WOT. Recommendation

Scope of the control

Inspectors reviewed one unit from each of the five stages of the multi-year project that builds the force, along with the WOT Command, which prepares subordinate units. Four brigades were included: the 16th Lower Silesian, the 11th Lesser Poland, the 1st Podlaskie and the 4th Warmian-Masurian. The audit also looked at how the formation's development goals were set, how equipment was planned, stored and maintained, how rotational training was run, how soldiers were prepared for crisis tasks, and how the defence minister supervised the process.
