Work starts at the Koszykarska junction

Reconstruction of a key stretch of Nowohucka Street in Kraków's Podgórze district begins on Monday. The works focus on the area around the intersection with Koszykarska Street and are being carried out under a developer agreement (W poniedziałek rusza przebudowa ważnej ulicy w Krakowie – RMF24). Officials say the goal is smoother traffic and better safety for drivers and pedestrians.

A new lane and upgraded infrastructure

The plan includes an additional traffic lane on Nowohucka Street, which will allow vehicles to turn back toward Stoczniowców and Saska streets (Rusza przebudowa ulicy Nowohuckiej w Krakowie. First stage on the pavement

The first phase starts with work on the pavement heading toward Koszykarska Street. While that continues, new street lighting and signal equipment will be built. Pedestrians will be directed onto a temporary walkway laid out on the adjacent greenery.

Caution urged

The city's roads authority asks pedestrians and drivers to take extra care in the area while works are under way.
