Karol Czubak a dream transfer: Slavia Prague reportedly has him as its top target

In brief

• The article reports that Czech club Slavia Prague is reportedly interested in Ekstraklasa striker Karol Czubak for the winter transfer window.
• Czubak scored 18 goals last season and six so far this season.
• Coach Jan Urban is skeptical of the striker's record, citing his failure in Belgium.

Slavia's priority in the winter window

Slavia Prague, which plays in this year's Champions League, is reportedly looking for a striker for the winter transfer window (Karol Czubak tym transferem utrze nosa Janowi Urbanowi? „Ma być głównym celem” – Transfery.info) (Karol Czubak celem transferowym numer jeden. Media: Polaka chce uczestnik Ligi Mistrzów – Gol24). The Czech club has Karol Czubak among its candidates, a 26-year-old sniper from the Ekstraklasa, who according to journalists is the number one target (Hitowy transfer Czubaka do Ligi Mistrzów? Jest głównym celem – KanalSportowy.pl).

Squad context

Tomas Chory is set to leave Slavia in the winter; the coaching staff and club officials wrote him off over inappropriate behaviour. Poles are already at Slavia: Wiktor Nowak and Oskar Kubiak play there.

The player's form

Czubak finished the previous season with 18 goals, which was not enough to win the top scorer's crown. In the current competition he has scored six goals. The player himself does not hide that he would like to try playing in a foreign league.

The coach's view

Jan Urban views the striker's record with reserve. He said good form in the Ekstraklasa does not give the full picture, and the player did not manage in Belgium.

Confirmation of the reports

The information about Slavia's interest was passed on by journalist Karol Tyniec on the platform X, and the portal medium.seznam.cz considered the transfer realistic. So far, however, there is no official confirmation of talks or offers from either club.
