Tender for the sea part of the port
On November 3, 2026, the Maritime Office in Szczecin, together with the Maritime Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście authority, launched proceedings to select a contractor for the sea section of Pomerania Cape (Przetarg na Port Zewnętrzny w Świnoujściu za ok. 2,5 mld zł – stockwatch.pl). The winner is to design and build an artificial peninsula covering 186 hectares, on which a deep-water container terminal will be built. The estimated value of the works is about PLN 2.5 billion (Polska się powiększy - nowa inwestycja pochłonie 2,5 mld zł. Ruszyło postępowanie na wykonawcę – wnp.pl).
Scope and procedure
The investment is divided into two complementary scopes, and the contract will be carried out on a design-and-build basis. The contractor will be selected in competitive dialogue.
Investment parameters
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka said the terminal is to receive the largest container ships entering the Baltic. The port is ultimately meant to handle 2 million TEU a year. According to Wojciech Zdanowicz, director of the Maritime Office in Szczecin, construction of the outer port is to take 2.5 years.
Location and scale of the project
The new port will be built east of the existing LNG terminal in Świnoujście (Przylądek Pomerania coraz bliżej! According to estimates cited in the media, the whole undertaking is worth about PLN 10 billion, and its implementation requires hydrotechnical and construction work both on land and at sea.
Next steps
In parallel with the selection of the contractor, the process of choosing the port operator is underway. The tender for the sea section of Pomerania Cape is the next stage of a project whose design work is largely complete, while infrastructure construction on land is ongoing.
