Proposal for a caretaker government

Speaking outside the Constitutional Tribunal in Warsaw, he said a constructive motion must name a successor, and his group proposed Marek Jurek, a former speaker of the Sejm (Morawiecki zapowiada wotum nieufności dla rządu. Goal of the new cabinet

According to Morawiecki, a new prime minister would have one main task: calming the situation and organising honest elections in 2027, as early as possible and no later than the constitutional deadline. He described Jurek as a figure widely seen as conciliatory, one who could win support from broad political groups and help reach a compromise.

Constitutional reset

Morawiecki said Rozwój Plus still regards a constitutional reset as the best solution but argued the current government would not accept it, which is why a change of cabinet is needed. He said the Tribunal should be selected anew after the elections. He also said the government was responsible for what he called an attack on the Tribunal, and that those behind it should not take part in any reset (У Польщі ініціюють вотум недовіри уряду Туска через ситуацію з Конституційним судом – Європейська правда).

Warning of wider crisis

Morawiecki warned that the dispute over the court could escalate into a much wider crisis, saying it could lead to bloodshed or even civil war.

Wider dispute

The proposal follows a dispute over the Tribunal in which some of its judges suspended the court's president for a month and blocked him from entering the building (Spor o polský Ústavní soud eskaluje. Protesters have gathered outside the seat of the court, and President Karol Nawrocki has called urgent consultations with parliamentary parties.
