Kaczmarek's short spell ends

• Raków Częstochowa dismissed Tomasz Kaczmarek on October 19 after five matches in charge.
• Dawid Szwarga was appointed as head coach on a contract until the end of 2027/28.
• Szwarga previously worked at Raków as an assistant and as head coach in the 2023/24 season.
• His competitive debut is expected in the coming weekend.

Raków Częstochowa parted ways with Tomasz Kaczmarek on Monday, October 19, after only five games in charge. The 42-year-old had been brought in from Radomiak Radom, with the buyout reportedly close to one million zloty. His last match was a 2:1 win over Wieczysta Kraków, but a run of defeats and the failure to reach the league phase of the Conference League had already weighed heavily on the club. Szwarga returns to Częstochowa

The club moved quickly to find a replacement. Dawid Szwarga, 36, was reported as the first choice from the start. He has worked at the club before, first as an assistant to Marek Papszun and then as head coach in 2023/24, when he lasted one season before Papszun returned. (Raków ma nowego trenera. Raków confirmed the appointment on Wednesday morning. The contract runs until the end of 2027/28. Szwarga started work at the club on Tuesday afternoon and was due to lead his first training session with the squad on Wednesday.

Debut this weekend

Reports from Polish media indicate Szwarga will make his competitive debut in the coming weekend, when Raków returns to league action. (Media: Raków wybrał trenera. Debiut już w sobotę – meczyki.pl)

The appointment is a return to a familiar face for supporters who associate Szwarga with the club's recent period of stability under Papszun. How quickly he can stop the slide in results will be the main test for the new coach.
