Attack on Yaroslavl refinery
Drones hit the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery on the night of November 2, according to reports. One of the five largest refineries in Russia, the plant supplies fuel that includes products used by military aircraft and equipment (Drone attack sparks fire at one of Russia’s largest oil refineries in Yaroslavl, media report – Ukrinform). The strike set off a fire at the site.
Casualties
Regional authorities said two members of the refinery's staff were injured in the attack. The governor did not provide details of their condition in the information available so far.
Wider pattern of strikes
The Yaroslavl attack comes a day after a separate drone raid on Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region. In that incident, the regional governor said more than a hundred drones were shot down overnight on November 1 and that an industrial facility in the Kstovo district, home to a Lukoil refinery, was significantly damaged (Drones attack Lukoil refinery in Russia – Ukrinform). Local Telegram channels linked the target to the refinery, though officials did not name the facility.
Context
The two raids point to a continued campaign against Russian oil processing capacity in the Volga region. Refineries are a frequent target because their output feeds both civilian fuel markets and the military supply chain.
