EU transfers €4.36 billion under the Ukraine Support Loan

Kyiv has received another €4.36 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan, Koretskyi said (Украина получила от Евросоюза еще €4,36 млрд в рамках программы Ukraine Support Loan – NV) (Мільярди на бюджет і зброю: ЄС перерахував Україні 4,36 млрд євро – Espreso). The European Commission confirmed the disbursement and said the payment is drawn from a €90 billion loan (Miliardy dla Ukrainy. Przelewy wyszły – Business Insider Polska).

Breakdown of the payment

Of the total, €3.7 billion is macro-financial assistance intended to support the state budget. The remaining €660 million is designated for Ukraine's defense needs (ЄС виділяє Україні ще 4,36 млрд євро: фон дер Ляєн оголосила про нову допомогу – Suspilne).

Defense component

According to the Commission, the defense funds will go toward drones, missiles, radars, electronic warfare systems and air defense ammunition. Most of that equipment is to be purchased from Ukrainian manufacturers.

Kyiv's stated priorities

Koretskyi said the money is critical for strengthening Ukraine's defense capability and keeping public finances stable amid continued Russian attacks. He thanked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Commissioners Valdis Dombrovskis and Andrius Kubilius, and EU member states for their continued support.

Koretskyi said Kyiv is working with European partners so that the remaining planned financing arrives on time and in full. Separately, the Commission had earlier proposed €8.04 billion under the Ukraine Facility, which is €264.6 million less than Kyiv requested because some agreed conditions were not met.
